    Reading this post and much agreeing to addressing the problem of sanitation first, reminds me of Jayalalitha distributing free laptops to high-school students in a 350 crore scheme in order to help tech literacy! Wouldn’t have addressing transport(for school children) and better educational facilities been a better long term structure and investment?

      Thanks for your comment. btw, the more I delve into development programs, less I’m sure about tradeoffs like these. Why can’t we have toilets AND better education AND laptops?

    Sorry if that sounded more like a trade off solution- was referring more to the priorities of a Government/State. Need for clean toilets>Laptops-i think 🙂
